Mrs. Kimble is a story about the lives of three different women who all fall in love and marry the same man, Ken Kimble. The best way to describe Ken Kimble is a con-artist and a womanizer. His first wife, Birdie, was only 18 when he married her (he was 32) and after having two children together, he left her for someone younger. Ken’s next wife, Joan, lived a lifestyle he wanted very badly and she wanted nothing more than to be a wife and a mother. Ken gave her what she wanted, but he took everything she had. The third Mrs. Kimble was Dinah and she too fell for Ken’s charms when she was just a girl. But as Dinah grew older, she grew wiser.

The struggles of each Mrs. Kimble is what makes this book such an amazing read. As you turn the page, you want to warn these women, you want to help them, and you really want to punish Ken for all the harm he caused. Ken was a chameleon. A man who could easily transform himself into new surroundings and new lives. A man who could easily destroy the lives of others just to get what he wanted.

This book will leave you at peace, which is something I can’t say about other books I’ve read. Jennifer Haigh did an amazing job telling the story of these women and it’s hard to believe this is the first book she’s ever written.

I picked up this book on a whim at my local bookstore and I’m so glad I did. Mrs. Kimble will will now share my bookshelf  all my other favorite books and it’s one I will keep forever.

I highly recommend you read this book, you won’t regret it!
